NOTICE OF DCA WAIT LIST OPENING


The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) currently will be accepting Preliminary Applications for its Project Based Voucher (PBV) Program effective immediately. Preliminary applications are being accepted for all five (5) projects that we serve. The PBV program enables DCA to provide assistance to an affordable safe decent rental unit. Project Based Vouchers are used at selected developments where providers of supportive services focus on special needs populations. The Department of Human Resources identifies the target population and refers clients to DCA for the program.

Preliminary Applications will only be accepted electronically through our system and only for the five projects we service.

A description of each is listed below:

. Cherokee County - Hearthstone Landing, located in Canton, GA, assists individuals that have experienced domestic abuse and agree to participate in a four-phase program facilitated by the Cherokee Family Violence Center.

. Floyd County - Pine Ridge Apartments, located in Rome, GA, assists individuals who are disabled and at risk of homelessness.

. Lowndes County - The Pines Family Campus, located in Valdosta, GA, assists families with substance abuse problems who will receive intensive counseling.

. Peach County - College Square Apartments, located in Fort Valley, GA, assists individuals and their families who are currently residing in nursing homes and have qualified for Medicaid Home and Community Based Personal Attendant Care Waiver Services.

. Randolph County - The Millennium Center, located in Cuthbert, GA, The Millennium Center is a residential substance abuse treatment facility that assists women with children, under the age of 13. The program focuses on mothers who suffer from substance abuse problems that may be in jeopardy of losing her children. Participants will receive inpatient treatment for substance abuse issues while rebuilding their bonds with their children and learning parenting skills.

The PBV WaitLists are assisted on a first-come, first-served basis. All applications must be complete including correct social security numbers and date of birth for each family member, including minors.

Once you have completed the preliminary online application, you will be provided a confirmation number that can be used to check your application status. As openings become available for your bedroom size, you will be notified of your next steps.
